Big Screen Small Words1 has dragged me out of my shameless solitude2 by passing me the relay in a very cool blogathon I’ve been eyeing from afar for some time now. All thanks to Nostra at MyFilmViews for creating this awesomesauce!
The rules are as follows: A list of 10 iconic movie characters has been made. That list will be assigned to another blogger who can then change it by removing one character (describing why they think it should not be on the list) and replace it with another one (also with motivation) and hand over the baton to another blogger. Once assigned that blogger will have to put his/her post up within a week. If this is not the case the blogger who assigned it has to reassign it to another blogger. After you have posted your update leave the link in the comments here and I will make sure it gets added to the overview post.
and I’m replacing:
Sorry, Rocky. You are no competition to the creepiness that is Jack Torrance from The Shining, a film and a character who were iconic way before I saw it for myself. I don’t think I will ever forget this face or character. So I say that he well deserves a place on this list, as impossible as it is to create, because “iconic” is different for everyone.3 When I look at this list with Scarlett and 007 and Indiana Jones… Rocky Balboa might be iconic for sports films, but for all films? I feel like Johnny deserves this place more. As I say this, I really recommend for you to check out some others posts in this relay — it has evolved in a truly interesting way.
And with that, I’m passing on the relay to m.brown from Two Dollar Cinema!
1 Which, by the way, is an awesome blog that you should be reading already… 2 He he he hehe. Am I funny yet? 3 Well, I for one am a doofus with very little film knowledge, but I’m not afraid to flaunt my opinion around.
